Another Year is over.  So lets go camping!

Camp McLean
June 18th-20th

Arrival is starting at 6pm Friday night, Closing Ceremony will be at 9:30am Sunday
(you can alternatively just come on Saturday for the activities)

We need to hear if you’re coming!!! Once you are confirmed we will announce the costs.

Notes

  • THIS CAMP IS NUT-FREE
  • No RV’s or camp trailers permitted
  • You are to provide your own food and cooking.

Water fight

As there is a water fight planned for Saturday afternoon, please ensure that all participants and volunteers have either appropriate swimwear/bathing suit, or an appropriate change of clothes. We ask that you do not bring water guns/balloons, as cups and water will be provided.

Our annual family picnic will take place at the Mackin Park Shelter on Monday June 7th.

Schedule:

  1. Check in starts at 9:00 A M
  2. Opening ceremonies 10: A M
  3. Activities start 10:15
  4. Lunch break  12:00 Noon -1:00 P M
  5. Activities restart at 1:00 O’clock
  6. Shut down, pack up & head for home 3:00P M

Some things to keep in mind:

  • This is a lug-a-mug event
  • Bring a Chair so you have someplace to sit.
  • You need to bring physical fitness forms, in accordance with the registration requirements
  • Individual hold harmless forms, for nonregistered members
  • Bring snacks/drinks/lunch, however your group/area is handling it
  • Dress for the weather.  Wear Boots and have a warm coat. It’s a rain or shine event!
  • No pets allowed, if they do show up, they must remain in your vehicle (which can bring charges by the SPCA)
  • Buildings are out of bounds
  • The water at camp McLean is potable, there are stand pipes throughout the camp
  • Those of you who have concerns about the quality of the camp water can bring your own bottled water

April 23: Station Set Up

Camp over for the service Scouts, Venturers, & Leaders. Any time after 6:00pm

April 24: “The Big Day”

  • Cub Packs come prepared for a Fun and Challenging Day
  • Bring your Group’s Cub Flag to adorn the presentation podium (don¡¦t forget the base)
  • For the Saturday Night Camp Over (optional); be prepared to perform your favorite songs and skits at the campfire (no meals are included in Cuboree registration)
  • Be prepared for some interesting night activities.

April 25: Sight Cleanup & Departure

What to Bring:

  • Essential toiletry articles
  • Sleeping bag, foam mattress and pillow
  • Extra snacks (optional: Science World provides a granola bar & juice)
  • Flashlight
  • Water Bottle
  • Uniform

The activities include the following:

  • Science World Omnimax Movie;
  • Interaction with all the exhibits;
  • Science shows with youth participation activities;
  • Night Walk around the outside of the Science World Dome;
  • Snacks;
  • Sleeping around and under the exhibits;
  • Morning Breakfast.

We will also continue CELEBRATING OVER “100 YEARS OF SCOUTING” with cake for everyone.

Parking and Drop Off:

Parking is free but you must come in to the building to pick up a parking pass when you arrive. Children and baggage may be dropped off in front of the building.

Arrival Time & Meal Option:

Our group meets in front of Science World at 6:30 pm.   If you’ve ordered the White Spot Meal. It will be  served at 5:00 pm. The cost is $7.00 per person. The Camp-in dinner consists of a Legendary Triple O hamburger with French fries and soft drink.  Payment for the dinner is made directly to the restaurant.

Departure Time:

Science World requires that we depart by 8:30 am the next morning (breakfast is provided).

Camp-in T-shirts are available at the Camp-in for $14 each/$15 for adults (GST included).
